简介
巴特勒毕业于格拉斯哥大学法学院。他第一次演出是《科利奥兰纳》（Coriolanus）和《猜火车》的舞台剧。第一个大银幕作品则是1997年与茱蒂·丹契和比利·康纳利（Billy Connolly）合作的《布朗夫人》（Mrs. Brown）。同年，他也在007系列电影《明日帝国》中演出一个小角色。之后，巴特勒陆陆续续参与一些独立电影和电视影集的演出，像是《Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married》、《The Cherry Orchard》、《One More Kiss》和《危机密佈》（Harrison's Flowers）。
